Music lovers who secured a seat in the Rotunda were treated to a unique experience with the appearance of the renowned Zurich Chamber Orchestra and its artistic director, the exceptional violinist Daniel Hope. This event, organized by TSSO, was part of the 59th Dimitria Festival.
The concert began with Mendelssohn’s exquisite No. 5 String Symphony, followed by Beethoven’s famous Kreutzer Sonata, arranged for solo violin and string orchestra by Richard Tognetti, and performed enchantingly by Daniel Hope. The evening concluded with Tchaikovsky’s romantic "Serenade for Strings in C major, Opus 48."
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis, who warmly congratulated the contributors at the end of the evening, as well as the Deputy Mayor of Culture, Tourism Development, and Intermunicipal Cooperation, Vasilis Gakis.
