Kalliopi Mylaraki

Popi Mylaraki was born in Thessaloniki.
At the age of 6, she began violin lessons at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki in the class of K. Vamvas, from where she received her diploma with “Excellent” in 1992. In 1988, she received the 1st prize and an honorary distinction in the string competition of the Thessaloniki Conservatory Alumni Association. She has attended violin and chamber music seminars in Greece and Austria with teachers Christos Polyzoides, Dim. Polyzoides, Elisabeth Polyzoides –Baich, Martin Tuksa, Tatsi Apostolidis and Giorgos Demertzis. From 1992 to 1994, she was a member of the youth orchestra of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, a regular member of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra and participated in concerts of the Thessaloniki Municipality Symphony Orchestra.
Since 1994 she has been studying at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, in the class of Chrys. Polyzoides, from where she received her diploma in 1998. She has given many concerts in cities in Greece and Austria and in the United States of America. She has participated in concerts of the Graz University Orchestra, the Rhodes Arts Festival, the Hellenic Camerata, the International Festival of “Demetria” in Thessaloniki and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall with the ensemble “trio 3@arias” of which she is a founding member.
She has founded the musical group “Milangeros” which deals with tango music. She has recorded for the Greek Radio and Television.
She was a professor at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki. She taught at the "Pythagorion" Conservatory at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki and currently teaches at the "Conservatory of Northern Greece" and is a permanent member of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra.
