Lila Manola

She completed her cello studies at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Roussi Dragnev and her third cycle of studies at the State Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris with Xavier Gagnepain. During her student years, she was awarded two first and one second Panhellenic prizes and appeared as a soloist in Belgrade with the Kosta Manojlovic School Orchestra, in Thessaloniki with the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki Orchestra as well as with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, within the framework of the International Competition for Young Soloists, where she was honored with the 2nd prize. In 2014, she collaborated with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, performing together with Theodore Kerkezos the double concerto for cello and saxophone by Michael Nyman, under his direction. He has taken part in masterclasses by N. Shahovskaya, A. Toth, A. Moruseanu, A. Rudin, R. Wallfish, A. Meunier, V. Courtois and for a year he studied with P. Müller. Since 2005 he has been a founding member of the “Emilios Riadis” string quartet and since 2007 a permanent member of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, holding the position of Sub-Principal.
