Maria Anissegou

Maria Anisegou was born in Stuttgart, Germany. She studied cello at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki under the guidance of Dimitris Patras.
In 2001, she continued her studies at the University of Music Würzburg in the class of Prof. Jörg Metzger, and from 2003 at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig, where she studied with Prof. Peter Hörr. In 2007, she graduated with the degree of Diplom-Musiker.
During her studies, she was awarded the Alexandra Trianti Scholarshipby the Friends of Music Society of the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) and a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY).
Maria Anisegou has given solo recitals and chamber music concerts and has appeared at major festivals in Greece and abroad. She has also performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
She is a member of Trio IAMA, together with her brothers Antonis Anissegos and Giannis Anissegos. The trio has recorded for Dissonance Records, releasing the album IAMA – Present Perfect, Vol. 1. She is also a founding member of VersUs Ensemble.
She has collaborated with the Contra Tempo Chamber Orchestra, Dissonart Ensemble, and has been a member of TrioFor and the Ionian Festival Ensemble.
Since 2007, she has been based in Thessaloniki, where she is a permanent member of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestraand teaches cello at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki
