Evangelia Hadjipetrou

Born in 2003, Evangelia Chatzipetrou began studying the violin at the age of six at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Marina Shelkova. She completed her violin diploma with highest honours and First Prize at the age of sixteen under the guidance of Andreas Papanikolaou.
From an early age, she has won numerous awards in national competitions including First Prize at the 1st Tasos Pappas Music Competition.
She was twice selected to participate in the International Violin and Chamber Music Seminar (LKM), where she was awarded an annual scholarship to study with Leonidas Kavakos.
Evangelia has attended masterclasses with renowned musicians including Zakhar Bron, Taras Gabora, Carlos Johnson, Marina Kesselman, Ivry Gitlis, Tobias Feldmann, Noé Inui and Giorgos Demertzis.
She has also participated in international music festivals such as the “Casalmaggiore International Music Festival” in Italy and the “Synthermia International Contemporary Music Festival” in Greece.
At the age of thirteen, she made her debut as a soloist with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra (TSSO) performing the first movement of Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole. In March 2026, she appeared again as a soloist with TSSO, performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto under the direction of Leo McFall.
She was a member of the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO), appearing in major concert venues throughout Greece and abroad. She was also a member of MOYSA, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki.
Since 2022, she has been a permanent member of the first violin section of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra. She currently continues her studies with Prof. Sophia Jaffé at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main.
Alongside her musical career, she is completing a degree in Computer Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
