Irini Garyfallia Pantelidou
She was born and raised in Larissa.
She began her musical studies at the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa (DOL), from where she obtained a degree in Harmony. She received a double bass diploma from the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, with an EXCELLENT grade and second prize. She has attended double bass seminars with: D. Mc Tier, F. Petracchi, J. Katrama, P. Bagovska, M. Wolf. She has also attended Psychoacoustics seminars and Byzantine Music courses. She has solo recitals and participations in first presentations of works by young composers as well as many participations in youth orchestras. She participated in a quintet with Mr. Leonidas Kavakos at the Rhodes Festival in June 1997. She also participated as a solo double bass in the chamber orchestra "Hellenic Camerata" on its tour of the American Continent in the summer of 2002. She participated as a soloist with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra (TSSO) in March 1998 and with the DOL Orchestra in November 2003. He was a member of the DOL Orchestra in the position of Principal. She is a member of the chamber orchestra "Orpheus Soloists", with which he gave concerts in Greece and abroad. Since January 1995 she has been working at the TSSO (in the period 1998-2001 as Sub-Principal). In the period 2001-2002 she was a permanent regular member of the Athens State Symphony Orchestra. Since July 1, 2002 she has been a permanent regular member of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra. From 1998 to 2008 she taught double bass and chamber music at the DOL. From 2003 to 2005 she also taught at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki. She is a graduate of the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
