The spark became a fire

The Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the T.S.S.O. Musicians Association and their friends participate in the actions organized by Parallaxi Magazine for the 100 years anniversary of the Great Fire that burned a big part of Thessaloniki and led to its reborn. Ensembles with T.S.S.O. musicians will present an unexpected musical happening, inspired by the fire, in places like the Artspace Ypsilon (ex Kiourtzi Han), the street in front and the Emporiou square.

Musical event based on the sound of percussion instruments with vocal interventions, that create pictures, images, feelings and memories of that era.

Thessaloniki Art & Music Summit (THAMS)

Thessaloniki Art & Music Summit (THAMS) is a new international center for artistic creation, cultural exchange, and contemporary music inspired by Greece.
Organized by Global Arts United (GAU), in partnership with Ablaze Records, THAMS brings together composers, visual artists, ensembles, and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra (TSSO) for two weeks of performances, workshops, collaborations, and cultural immersion in one of Europe’s most historic and vibrant cities.
 Each edition celebrates a Greek-oriented theme, drawn from mythology, history, philosophy, or tradition, ensuring that new artistic creation remains rooted in the country’s millennia-old cultural legacy.

Theme: ORPHEUS
The inaugural 2026 edition explores Orpheus, reimagining the ancient myth through new compositions, performances, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
