The 'Odessa Classics International Music Festival' in Thessaloniki

The Odessa Classics International Music Festival, a leading cultural event in the field of classical music, is hosted in Thessaloniki, from 9 to 13 June 2022, organized by the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki.

The Thessaloniki State Orchestra participates with a concert, where in its first part will be presented the 'Piano Concerto no.21 in C major, K.467', with soloist the Artistic Director of the festival Alexey Botvinov, while in the second part follows a great collaboration with top American baritone Thomas Hampson, performing arias from operas by Mozart (The Marriage of Figaro), Massenet (Herodias), Verdi (The Sicilian Vespers) and Lehar (The Cheerful Widow), such as songs by Cole Porter.

The decision of the Minister of Culture and Sports to finance the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, in order to organize the Odessa Classics Festival, is a proof of the cultural solidarity of Greece towards the Ukrainian people and especially towards the city of Odessa, which is connected with deep historical ties with Hellas.
