An evening of wonderful Italian music 26 May 2025

The TSSO's tribute to Nino Rota offered the city's audience the opportunity to enjoy an evening full of wonderful Italian music, through the works of the honored composer, as well as a distinguished soloist from the neighboring country, the trombonist Massimo La Rosa, who performed the concerto in C, as well as two encores, responding to the warm applause of the audience by characterizing the last encore as a 'gift from Italy'. The program began and ended cinematically, with the well-known and beloved music from the films 'The Godfather' and 'La Strada', exciting the audience, which filled the Aristotle University Ceremonial Hall. The TSSO conducted by Bulgarian conductor Dian Tchobanov within the framework of the program 'Thessaloniki-Sofia: Balkan Cultural Bridge'.
